EMPTY- V
EMILIANO SCATARZI

My inspiration comes from images on the television, a window open to the world (is this real?), an instrument which everyone possess, listens to and is hypnotized by, the empty messages which cannot be assimilated as concepts, which circulate in the human mind, disturbing it, like a thought which does not find its full expression, like food without back taste that does not satiate one’s hunger.
Through my work, I instill a doubt, not a real ‘conspiracy theory’; I hope to provoke us to think about the extent to which we use our minds to assimilate what is presented to us as real, but is only the reflection of biased or totalitarian information, to the point that we do not identify with its deviated traits.
Everyone of us, out of the exhibition, start observing which and how many cameras are pointed at us to spy and control us, to later dictate how we are to behave through television, the ‘Big Eye’, the ‘Confessor’, the ‘Big Brother’, controlled as we are by the ‘Benefactor’ and through the help of the ‘Integral’, we are filtered and disinfected so to be ready to be part of the ‘only state’, like numbers deprived of their mathematical meaning.
