Obrador (the workshop)
By Marcela Römer
Artistic constructions that are reasoned from architecture are an almost exact mapping of what a basic structure of thought could convey.
Leandro Comba is an artist who thinks and substantiates works that simulate architectural surfaces where the stipulations that compose them appear to be that which sustains them, placing it in a conceptual place of privilege. Within the organizational constructs that make up his craft a possible area where the aesthetic of the supporting material and the slowly deteriorating lines cross each other to define one of its major tribulations.
The workshop is the place where an architectural structure is planned out; it is the territory where plans, design, ideas and persistent mistakes develop the ability for a specific location of survival where one or more subjects will end inhabiting the space.
The flat surfaces of which the pieces are made and that literally, support the lines suspended from the ingenious drawing, subtract a constructive area where the fabric of the drawing performs an act that suspends, grazing, the linearity of the idea that builds another idea that happens, and will try to repeat its predecessor deconstructing the original.

The space, line and neutral support surface are the primary objectives that Comba presents us with the intent to externalize a sketch of detailed observation of time and space of a constructive program that in appearance wishes to be constructive but in reality it tackles obsession and that constant desire for perfection.
Within those mediums that relate to certain orders of our everyday life as tables, chairs, placards structures or designs of kitchen furniture, the ephemeral lines draw up a project that could be presented as a two-dimensional space with the notion of an Axonometric projection.

Leandro Comba develops his capabilities as architect and exhibit designer in his role as artist in an analytical concept extreme in his works featuring the various represented distribution they display. Comba is an example of a consistent conceptual tradition involving a large group of artists in the southern cone where a rhetorical discourse that envisions a scheme consisting of organic representations that are constantly questioned lie.
Obrador (the workshop) is that craft of constant constructive thought that generates from the desire of an intention to inhabit a space, that is, whatever your thoughts allow, whether it could be otherwise.
